...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 AM CDT

FOR SOUTHWESTERN HARRISON AND EAST CENTRAL HANCOCK COUNTIES...



At 816 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Bay St. Louis,

moving southeast at 40 mph.



HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.



Locations impacted include...

Gulfport, Biloxi, Long Beach, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Diamondhead,

Shoreline Park, and Gulfport Airport.



This includes Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 14

and 39.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If on or near areas of water, get away and move to safe shelter

immediately. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be

struck by lightning. Severe thunderstorms can produce large capsizing

waves, even on small bodies of water. Move into dock and seek safe

shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.



For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a

building.
