...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 10 PM AKDT MONDAY...



The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag

Warning, which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 10 PM

AKDT this evening. A second Red Flag Warning has also been issued

from 10 AM to 10 PM AKDT Monday.



* AFFECTED AREA...Delta Junction.



* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, from 4 PM this 

  afternoon to 10 PM AKDT this evening. For the second Red Flag 

  Warning, from 10 AM to 10 PM AKDT Monday.



* WINDS...Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.



* HUMIDITY...As low as 20 to 25 percent.



* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the low to mid 60s.



* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected Sunday 

  and Monday due to a combination of low relative humidity, gusty

  winds, and dry fuels. Any new fire starts or existing fires may

  spread rapidly.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will

occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous

fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to

the public.
