Gusty south to southwest winds and RHs in the 18-28 percent range will continue for the next few hours, with decreasing wind and increasing RHs this evening. A weak surface trough will move through the region on Tuesday, accompanied only by a wind shift to the northwest. High pressure builds in Tuesday night into Wednesday. RHs will drop into the 20-30 percent range again Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures trending much warmer inland from Lake Michigan. Anyone planning burns near Lake Michigan or the Bay the next couple days should expect lake breezes to develop in the late morning and afternoon. Lake breezes will bring cooler temperatures, onshore winds (E-SE), higher RH and poor smoke dispersal to lakeshore areas. Thursday will be the windiest day of the week with south winds forecast to gust 25 to 35 mph. The next round of widespread rain and thunderstorms comes Thursday night into Friday.
