Continued cool conditions today, with some RH values dropping below 30 percent in portions of Minnesota lakes country. North to northwest winds at 5 to 15 mph will be lighter than yesterday. Temperatures begin to increase Monday and Tuesday, with winds increasing from the south tomorrow. This will bring Red Flag conditions to northwest Minnesota where winds and low relative humidity are expected. Further west, low relative humidity in eastern North Dakota is expected, but the maximum of greatest winds looks to be further east, so near critical conditions should be the main concern. A weak front will push through tomorrow afternoon shifting winds to more northwesterly and potentially briefly increasing relative humidity. However, the wind shift and still relatively low RH should keep at least near critical conditions through the early evening. Through the week, dry air and warm temperatures will facilitate daily chances for near critical to critical fire weather conditions, with Wednesday becoming the most likely day for widespread Red Flag conditions at this point in time. A more unsettled pattern with rain and thunderstorm chances arrives Thursday with precipitation chances lingering into the weekend as cooler temperatures arrive.
