Critical fire weather continues across eastern North Dakota with RH values down into the 25 to 35 percent range and sustained winds mostly above 25 mph. RH values east of the Red River in the Minnesota counties of the Red Flag are a bit higher due to recent cloud cover, but winds are there and RH values will drop a bit more in the next few hours. Winds will diminish and RHs start to recover this evening, with winds becoming light and variable later tonight. Sunny Wednesday and a dry and warm airmass will give RH values 20 to 30 percent. Winds will be much lighter with high pressure overhead. Near critical fire weather conditions may occur due to low RH despite the lighter wind. Thursday will be another windy one, with south winds this time gusting 50 to 55 mph over eastern North Dakota and the Red River valley. Strong winds may make it to Roseau, Thief River Falls as well. Lowest RH values will be a tad higher but still in the 30 to 40 percent range and there will be a chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms. More wind and even lower RH values on Friday with winds this time from the west. Another day of critical fire weather may occur.
