This evening and overnight, a cold front is forecast to move through the area and will cause the winds to shift around to the north northeast by morning before becoming more southeasterly during the day Tuesday. These winds are forecast to gust up around 20 mph over central SD during the afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values are forecast to be above 25% over most of the area, with values dropping to 15 to 25 percent over south central SD. Wednesday there are somewhat more widespread elevated fire weather conditions possible as southerly winds will start to gust up to 30 to 40 mph over the area during the afternoon.
