ABPZ20 KNHC 051135 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 500 AM PDT Fri Jun 5 2026 For the eastern and central North Pacific east of 180 longitude: Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Amanda, located well west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula. Offshore Southern and Southwestern Mexico: A trough of low pressure located well offshore of southwestern Mexico is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions appear conducive for development of this system, and a tropical depression is likely to form late this weekend or early next week. The disturbance is forecast to move slowly northeastward or northward near the coast of southern Mexico. Interests in southern Mexico should monitor the progress of this system. * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...high...70 percent. Offshore of Central America: A trough of low pressure offshore of Central America is producing disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity.
