For the eastern and central North Pacific east of 180 longitude:



Active Systems:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical 

Storm Amanda, located well west-southwest of the southern tip of 

the Baja California Peninsula.



Offshore Southern and Southwestern Mexico:

A trough of low pressure located well offshore of southwestern 

Mexico is producing a large area of disorganized showers and 

thunderstorms. Environmental conditions appear conducive for 

development of this system, and a tropical depression is likely to 

form during the next several days while it moves slowly 

northeastward near the coast of southern Mexico.

* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.

* Formation chance through 7 days...high...70 percent.



Offshore of Central America:

A trough of low pressure offshore of Central America is producing 

some disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity. Environmental 

conditions appear conducive for development of this system, and a 

tropical depression could form during the next several days while it 

moves slowly northward.

* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.

* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...60 percent.
