This is our really slow movie player! It uses an e-paper display and plays a movie at 4 frames every 2 min. Every time you look at it, it is a different picture from the movie. I change out the movies for the time of year, like holidays and stuff.
Pinball Clock
Clock we built to work like a pinball machine display. It has over 1500 classic pinball animations. It uses 8 large led displays and an Arduino (https://www.arduino.cc/) to control them all and keep them in sync.
LED Mirror
This mirror was built using a 64×64 LED panel. The same kind of panel that is used on those giant billboards. It uses a Raspberry Pi 3 (https://www.raspberrypi.org/) and a small pinhole camera. We set it up to turn off after 1 min of no movement. Once it detects movement again it turns back on.
Camera Printer
This printer uses a camera and takes a picture then prints it out along with a random quote from the internet using a thermal receipt printer. We built this using a Raspberry Pi 3 (https://www.raspberrypi.org/). It is programmed in Python (https://www.python.org/) and uses batch files to send data to the printer driver. This was a…
Cellphone
This is our working cellphone we built ourselves! It can make calls and receive calls on the 2G cell network and has a TFT touch screen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD). We want to update it to use a more modern network like 3G or 4G and also want to figure out how to do text messages. It was…
Jam Box
The Jam Box is something we use all the time. We built it to be a long playing battery powered Bluetooth stereo speaker. It has a solar panel to charge the batteries when being used. It can play for about 30hrs before having to be charged. Also it is waterproofed and uses marine speakers.
